RFID Journal has announced that registration is now open for RFID Journal LIVE! 2011, said to be the world’s premier conference and exhibition focused on radio frequency identification and its many business applications. Motorola will be the cornerstone and registration sponsor for the event, which will educate attendees about how best to integrate RFID technologies with their business needs.

LIVE! 2011, the ninth annual event produced by RFID Journal, will be held on Apr. 12-14 at the Orange Country Convention Center, located in Orlando, Fla. The conference will feature five industry-specific and three level-of-expertise conference tracks, seven in-depth preconference seminars, fast-track CompTIA RFID+ training and certification, the RFID Journal Awards, and two co-located events (IEEE RFID 2011 and The Internet of Things), as well as exhibits and demonstrations conducted by numerous leading technology firms.

“RFID Journal LIVE! delivers more value to attendees every year, because there are more in-depth case studies, more sessions explaining how to successfully deploy the technology, and more RFID vendors offering vertical-industry solutions,” says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal‘s founder and editor. “The technology is maturing at a rapid pace, and we expect to see a great turnout this year.”

The conference tracks will cover the use of RFID in aviation and aerospace, defense and security, health care and pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and operations, and retail and consumer packaged goods, as well as how to deploy RFID, supply chain and logistics, and visibility and traceability. Preconference seminars will provide in-depth education in such areas as construction, energy, food and agriculture, health care, IT, and warehouse and inventory management. What’s more, RFID Journal University, LIVE!’s most popular preconference, will be offered this year in both Spanish and English.

The first co-located event, IEEE RFID 2011, will be the fifth in a series of conferences addressing theoretical, technical and implementation issues related to RF-based identification and communications systems. This conference is sponsored by the IEEE Technical Committee on RFID (CRFID), a group specially chartered to address issues involving radio frequency identification.

The other co-located event, The Internet of Things, will cover an E.U.-funded project known as Coordination and Support Action for Global RFID-related Activities and Standardization 2 (CASAGRAS2). This one-day program will focus on the architecture, identification and data-capture protocols, applications and services frameworks, R&D roadmaps, education and training necessary to make the Internet of Things a reality.

Additionally, LIVE! 2011 will feature a workshop for apparel suppliers looking to learn how to tag items for retail partners. This all-day seminar, known as the Apparel Supplier Workshop, will explore the benefits that can be achieved from employing RFID internally to manage inventory and improve picking and shipping operations.
