Beontag has appointed Alejandro Quiroz Centeno as its new chief executive officer, described by the company as a “dynamic executive with more than three decades of experience in The Americas, EMEA and Asia.”

Quiroz Centeno is replacing CEO Ricardo Lobo, who is leaving the company after nine years. The company’s press statement noted “during his tenure, Mr. Lobo played a pivotal role in Beontag’s transformation from a regional graphic labels company to a true global leader of digital tags, IoT solutions and pressure-sensitive adhesives. The board deeply appreciates his dedication and the positive impact he has made in the business.”

Introducing New CEO

Quiroz Centeno served most recently as CEO of Latin America for Prysmian, an Italy-based world leader in the energy and telecommunications industry. In this role, his team enabled a sustainable energy transition for decarbonization and helped develop digital infrastructure solutions. He also currently serves as a board member of IDEX Corporation, a Chicago-based premier industrial company and part of S&P 500.

He will oversee Beontag’s global footprint across 40 markets, with a particular focus on the company’s ongoing investment and expansion into North America. Quiroz Centeno said he is “enthusiastic” about the prospects of this role with a company as influential and innovative as Beontag.

“With the enormous potential of IoT technology continuing to emerge in so many industries worldwide, as well as some remarkable innovations and applications in graphics and label materials, I am very eager to drive this prosperous business towards its ambitious goals.” he said. “I am committed to build on the foundations of this enterprise for the years to come.”

Beontag Initiatives

The moves comes after Beontag opened the doors on its new state-of-the-art facility in Trotwood, OH last year, the latest step for the company’s global growth. The $80 million facility includes investment in innovative technology equipment and infrastructure, quadrupling Beontag’s output capacity in North America.

According to company officials, the facility will be able to ship up to three billion RFID tags and up to 2.9 billion sq. ft. of graphic and label materials per year, equivalent to more than 50,000 football fields per year, for sectors including mass market labelling, tickets, industrial and smart tire tags by Q4 2025.

And the Beontag recently launched a new partnership with tire manufacturer Michelin that will incorporate the RFID-company’s technology into millions of new commercial and passenger tires over the next two years. The UHF embedded tag consists of a jointly designed pod and antenna using state-of-the-art chips and materials. The Beontag product will enable complete traceability of all new tires, including manufacture date and storage location, distribution, installation and replacement, refurbishment and more, for the entire life cycle of the tires.
