To be honest, I’m unsure what you mean by the tag being downloaded to a smartphone. The tag is a physical object, and cannot be downloaded to a phone. There are Near Field Communication (NFC) tags that can be read by smartphones equipped with NFC readers, however. The tag data can be captured by the phone, which can then act as a tag in “emulation mode,” so that the information can be read by another NFC-enabled smartphone, or by any other NFC interrogator.
