PRESS RELEASE:
UNICOM Global has announced the development of Universal Gateway (“UniGW”), a management dashboard designed to provide real-time insights into operational business performance. UniGW aggregates core metrics from multiple data sources, applications and technology platforms to provide executives with an organizational view of system health, and acts as a modernizing ‘gateway’ by providing drill-down web and mobile access to traditional systems tools and legacy applications.
The first generation of UniGW received a positive reception at the UNICOM Global Leadership Through Technology Summit at UNICOM Technology Park I & II in Chantilly Virginia, attended by executives from the Federal, State, Local and Educational sectors.
“IBM z Systems play a central role in Digital Business with near 100% uptime,” said Mr. Corry Hong, Founder, President and CEO of UNICOM Global. “According to IDC, more than 70% of CIOs see their role is shifting from that of an Operational Officer to Digital Transformation Officer/Agent of Innovation, as more than 50% of CIOs will increase their IT budgets this year to reflect the need for Digital Transformation spending. UNICOM’s UniGW is a critical link for IBM z Systems Tivoli ITSM and performance management tools to Mobile Computing, Cloud, Watson, IoT and “Real-Time” Predictive Analytics Platforms.”
With its open design approach using web services APIs and z/OS connectors, UniGW is an extensible architecture paramount to support the swift technology changes of today. Developed without J2EE middleware and HTML 5 enabled, UniGW also provides the foundation for line of business views of an organization. The use of UNICOM’s innovative mobile development framework, UX4, provides an enhanced user experience and interface.
UNICOM’s UniGW solution is integral to strategic decision making, correlating the massive amount of data erupting with new technologies such as big data, video analysis, IBM Watson, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (“IoT”).
UNICOM Global is a development-centered organization founded in Los Angeles in 1981 by Corry Hong, an Assembler programmer and architect who built the successful AUTOMON product, based on IBM CICS technology.
