July 7, 2004—While most industries long ago implemented barcode systems and are now considering the implementation of far more powerful RFID technology, health care facilities have yet to really embrace even barcoding. AIM Global’s president Dan Mullen says of health care facilities that “automatic data collection is in its infancy,” with signifantly less than 10 percent using barcode scanning.
