New Product Offering from Caen RFID’s

Caen RFID’s has introduced fIDo, the company’s latest addition to easy2read product line. This RAIN RFID sled reader is engineered for long-range applications and is promoted as delivering exceptional performance due to its integrated antenna.

Equipped with an internal 5200mAh rechargeable battery, fIDo features extended operating time and includes a wireless charging transmitter, allowing users to charge smartphones when the fIDo is connected to the power supply without the need to detach it from the reader.

fIDo has the ability to offer seamless connectivity through its Bluetooth interface such as PCs, smartphones, PDAs, or tablets. It supports a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Android, and iOS and accommodates both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth classic communication.

The new product is designed for a variety of applications, including inventory management, mobile workforce support, service and maintenance tasks, and asset tracking. With the advanced Impinj E710 IC, the fIDo ensures fast reading speeds and top-tier performance in dense reader and tag environments.

u-blox Offers New Ultra-Low-Power Asset Tracking Service

u-blox is now offering CloudTrack, an end-to-end asset tracking service that breaks new ground for the Internet of Things (IoT) landscape. The all-in-one service provides the ultimate in ultra-low-power positioning, global connectivity and cloud integration. CloudTrack simplifies IoT asset tracking with contractless per-location-request plans accessible worldwide, offering businesses a predictable pay-as-you-go pricing model without hidden costs or worries about data usage.

u-blox officials proclaim the biggest advantage of CloudTrack is its 6X energy savings, compared to a standalone GNSS fix with a cold start and transmitting data securely over the internet. The service leverages the best of u-blox expertise and technology to intelligently calculate the position using a combination of available data from GNSS, cellular, and Wi-Fi sources. Businesses can locate assets in poor or non-existing GNSS signal conditions or even indoors, where it would otherwise be challenging to get a location fix and would quickly drain battery.

CloudTrack works optimally with u-blox cellular ”combo” modules, including the LENA-R8 LTE Cat 1bis module with integrated M10 GNSS receiver, to deliver an all-in-one ultra-low-power global IoT asset tracking solution.

AtlasRFIDstore, Innovative Concepts in Entertainment Partner to Introduce RFID in Gaming

AtlasRFIDstore is producing RFID tags and hardware for Innovative Concepts in Entertainment (ICE). ICE’s RFID-enabled ticket redemption games save gaming venues time and money by digitizing the ticket redemption process.

ICE Games, one of the world leaders in amusement games with products in over 55 countries, has continued to expand its large selection of games in categories like sports, redemption, and motion-based rides. When ICE began expanding into ticket redemption games, one of their new concepts required digital ID technology.

Currently, when users win a roll of tickets in claw or other game types, the roll of tickets is dropped into the prize chute and dispensed to the winner. The winner then collects and takes their tickets to redemption areas to be counted and added to their total or redeemed. Problems they have encountered include lost or stolen tickets, ticket rolls not being placed back in the correct gaming machine, and other errors due to manual processes

After testing, ICE decided on the Vulcan Fire UHF RFID tags, which were then placed on the inside of each ticket roll. The next step was to install an RFID system into each gaming console in order to read the tagged rolls.atlasRFIDstore recommended the ThingMagic m6e Nano Module, Vulcan p11 UHF RFID Antennas, and custom 3 ft Antenna Cables, enabling ICE to create a small, compact RFID system to fit in place of the typical prize chute and door.\

Once the claw grabs the RFID tagged ticket roll, it drops the roll into the modified chute, which is now outfitted with an RFID system. When the ticket roll drops onto the RFID antenna, the RFID system reads the digital ID on the tag, which tells the RFID reader the number of tickets contained on that specific roll. The winner can then swipe or tap their arcade/loyalty card, and the number of tickets is automatically uploaded to their card.

KAGA FEI Expands Lineup of Wireless LAN/Bluetooth Combo Modules
