Companies in the oil and gas, chemical, mining, construction and energy industries are using radio frequency identification technologies to improve operational safety and efficiency, as well as achieve better financial results. On Sept. 24, RFID Journal hosted a virtual event titled "RFID in Harsh Environments 2019," in which attendees learned how the technology can be used for asset tracking, personnel safety and equipment maintenance, as well as to speed up production and shipping processes in harsh and complex environments.

Archived recordings of the event's presentations are now available online. Please note that you need to be a Registered User or Premium Member of RFID Journal to view these materials, as you will be prompted to enter your e-mail address and password before viewing the recordings. Complex Environments Require Robust Design: How the Most Critical Applications Benefit From Specialized RFID
Many RFID tags claim to be suitable for harsh environments, but as different as tags are, so are the definitions of "harsh" for various use cases. During this session, attendees received valuable insights into the most relevant standards and visualized testing models used to enable smarter RFID tag choices. Learn how different companies across multiple industries have implemented RFID to achieve greater financial and operational results, improved manufacturing processes, a safer working environment and faster data collection, as well as to simplify the tracking of critical assets.
