Mar 02, 2013In this video, shot at RFID Journal LIVE! 2011, NXP executives show several applications of RFID technology. In one application, a reader monitors apparel items in real time. A specially designed RFID hang-tag alerts staff when someone removes the tag in an attempt to steal the item. In another, an NFC-enabled smart phone acts as a loyalty card. Other applications include tracking surgical sponges, the ability to use a UHF tag to interact with electronic devices and an application for authenticating products.
