RFID Journal Award Finalist Session: Equipment Tracking Goes Mobile with RFID

Published: May 23, 2022

BAE Systems, an international defense, aerospace, and security company, has developed a low cost, user-friendly solution that can be used to track equipment moving across facilities for one of its customers. The equipment being moved consisted of test benches, office equipment, manufacturing equipment, test equipment, and engineering equipment. The system enables their customer to record data for each piece of equipment as it is being moved and storing it in an excel file in an area where all stakeholders could view the data. Learn how the solution gives the user the freedom to use it anywhere because the only required equipment is a mobile PC the size of a smart phone, a mobile antenna, and a server PC. Also, hear how the system leverages existing infrastructure and can be easily upgraded in the future to accommodate other locations. This project is nominated for RFID Journal Award in the category of Best Logistics/Supply Chain RFID Implementation.
