Published: March 2, 2013

A leading oilfield services and equipment company recently completed a pilot project utilizing RFID technology to help improve materials management. The initiative focused on the entire work process for rebuilding leasing equipment. The system utilizes extremely hardened RFID tags that are not only weather and chemical-resistant, but also metal-friendly. The tags are attached to the pipe using reliable steel banding with no effect on the readability. Learn how the integrated system resolved problems related to the tracking of equipment and ensuring that maintenance logs were linked to the appropriate piece of equipment. Also hear how the system supports scalability into other work processes and disciplines.
