Building Brands In-store With the Internet of Things

Published: November 18, 2019

The opportunity for embracing the Internet of Things (IoT) is extensive, and this rapid-fire session will explore recent case studies, including a large-scale deployment of NFC-enabled wine bottles for one of California’s most famous vineyards, a sustainability behaviour change programme for Unilever and an innovative augmented reality case study from The Absolut Co. that drove a 300 percent year-over-year (YOY) sales increase. In this session, Cameron Worth will introduce the concept of the “connected consumer” and demonstrate what brands can learn from various industries, such as fashion and spirits, about how technology innovation is being deployed at scale to deliver relevant experiences, create new platforms and attain previously unseen consumer insights. By leveraging the IoT, brands can deliver value to retail partners via interactive in-store experiences, as well as engage end users with connected packaging post-purchase at home.
