NXP Semiconductors, Smartrac and Avery Dennison all have facilities that can develop customized antennas for passive high-frequency (HF) and ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID solutions. Typically, they are able to prototype antennas of various shapes and capacitance for different applications.
These firms can create a single tag or a few tags that can be tested, and then refine the design as necessary. If you require tags packaged in a special way—say, to withstand high heat or harsh chemicals—then these companies can put you in touch with partners that can create such prototypes for you.
