Are there any RFID-embedded interrogators available that have a low price-tag—say, less then $100?

To my knowledge, their are no reader modules on the market that cost less than $100. High-frequency (HF) reader modules are currently less expensive than ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) modules, but most sell for $200 to $400.

Texas Instruments (TI) offers its S6350 Mid Range Reader Module, which sells for $210 at rfidusa.com. TI also has a Series 2000 Micro Reader selling for $89.76 at that same site.

Perhaps our readership is aware of other low-cost modules.
