Ask The ExpertsHow Can I Track Ship Personnel With Wi-Fi RFID?
RFID Journal Staff asked 14 years ago

I am looking for a vendor who can supply a Wi-Fi-based RFID system to track personnel on board an Indian naval ship. We need 170 active RFID interrogators and 500 tags. The tags have to be intrinsically safe. The system will be interfaced and monitored by a platform-management system, whose GUIs are running on Windows. The readers should have 2 Ethernet ports, and will be connected to a dual-redundant network. This requirement is urgent.

Aeroscout, Ekahau and Zebra Enterprise Solutions are among the leading providers of Wi-Fi-based RFID systems. I have contacted these companies, and have asked them to reach out to the person who submitted this request.

If other providers offer intrinsically safe Wi-Fi tags and would like me to pass that information on to this person, please send a note to
editor@rfidjournal.com and I will forward it along.
