Many passive low-frequency (LF), high-frequency (HF) and ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) tags are disposable. These usually come in label form and are inexpensive enough that they can be thrown away with the object to which they are attached. There are many different shapes and sizes available, depending on whether you are tracking a vial of drugs or a pallet of airplane parts, for instance.
