RFID Journal recently continued its series of webinars highlighting the Best New Product finalists of 2020.
Published: July 20, 2020

On July 14, RFID Journal presented a webinar titled “Best New RFID Products of 2020: PervasID’s Flow Ranger and Printronix Auto ID’s T6000e RFID Printer.” Each webinar in this series features two products chosen as  RFID Journal Award finalists, which will be exhibited at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2020 conference and exhibition, to be held on Sept. 9-11 in Orlando, Fla. This event’s speakers were Sabesan Sithamparanathan, the founder and CEO of PervasID, and Chris Brown, an RFID subject-matter expert at Printronix Auto ID.

The Flow Ranger is a passive UHF RFID reader system with zero-accuracy drop-off, offering reading speeds of up to 400 tags per second. This bidirectional-flow passive portal system is capable of reading densely packed passive RFID tags with more than 99 percent accuracy, according to the company, while providing high flow rate information for both directions of travel information, thanks to a patented technology that uses virtual RF boundaries with confinement.

The T6000e RFID printer combines on-metal and standard smart label capabilities in a single printer. This enterprise-level industrial RFID printer is designed for high-volume RFID label printing and encoding, and it uses a patented dual-antenna construction for the encoding of on-metal or standard smart labels, making it suitable for tagging assets or products that require both conventional and on-metal tags. The device’s auto-calibration feature automatically determines proper RFID power levels, inlay position, and the correct antenna and specific encoding algorithm to use for a particular application.
