June 7, 2004—Part of the enormous $10 billion contract Accenture recently won from the US Department of Homeland Security to improve monitoring and security at border crossings will include the development of an RFID-based card system. Such a system will ensure that waits at the already clogged border crossings don’t become intolerable with the added security measures.
