October 11, 2004—Popular investment site The Motely Fool highlighted RFID today, taking a particular focus on industrial printing and well-known RFID labelling company Printronix. The article notes that Printronix, founded in 1974, is an older company than most in the space, and that it has smartly leveraged its printing expertise into RFID label making and other related solutions. The company’s foray into radio frequency identification began about one year ago, and since then it has been successfully “gaining traction,” including nurturing tight relationships with Wal-Mart and the U.S. Department of Defense.
