RFID Journal, the leading source of RFID news and insights, has launched a new RFID RFP System that enables subscribers to send requests for information, proposals or quotes to vendors.

With the new system, which is now live, subscribers fill out an online form, indicating the RFID products and services that interest them. The system automatically searches RFID Journal‘s database of more than 300 companies and finds those that match a subscriber’s requirements. Subscribers can choose which companies they would like to send their request to.

Mark Roberti

“This system is unique in the RFID industry,” says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. “We do not charge vendors a commission fee. This is a service we provide for our subscribers at no extra charge.”

THE RFID RFP System allows users to choose whether to send a request for information, proposal or quote. Users can send requests related to hardware, software, services or complete solutions. They can specify whether they are interested in active or passive technology, in low, high or ultra-high frequency technology, and whether they want to use ISO standards, Electronic Product Code specifications or a propriety system. And they can choose what country or region the system will be deployed in.

The system allows users to specify their needs, provide a budget, enter a deadline by which the project has to be completed, ask questions of the vendors, and describe the nature of their business. E-mails are automatically sent to as many of the companies that can fulfill the requirements as the user chooses.

Users can save each request for quote for future reference. Vendors that subscribe to RFID Journal can also log in and review the request for information, proposals and quotes that they received.

“The RFID industry is maturing rapidly,” says Roberti. “Many companies are now at the stage where they are ready to purchase RFID technology. Our mission has always been to help them take advantage of RFID, and this is just another sign of our commitment to our readers.’
