RFID Journal announced today that its RFID Journal LIVE! Brasil conference and exhibition, focused on radio frequency identification technology and its deployments across all industries in Brazil, will feature sessions from computer and IT giant Hewlett-Packard (HP), flower distributor Veiling Holambra, IT services consultancy TEVEC Metodologias e Sistemas Ltda. and Duratex, the manufacturer and marketer of the Deca brand of bathroom fixtures and fittings. The event will take place on Nov. 6-7, 2013, at the Espaço APAS convention center, located in São Paulo, Brazil.

This unique event, produced by RFID Journal in partnership with Hewlett-Packard, will showcase leading end users presenting powerful real-world case studies. These presentations, offered in Portuguese, will highlight how businesses are employing RFID, and where they are achieving real benefits. The high-quality content is designed to help Brazilian companies considering using RFID to address real business challenges, determine the more appropriate RFID technology for their needs, learn best practices from early adopters, find the right technology partners and move forward with implementation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the leading technology companies and view their latest solutions. The conference is cornerstone-sponsored by HP.

Henrique de Oliveira Miguel, an executive at Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, will open the event on Nov. 6. Marcelo Pandini, HP’s senior manager of operations strategy development and manufacturing logistics, will present a session detailing how HP Brasil is employing an RFID-enabled solution to track electronic waste and manage the company’s recycling program. And Francisco Pereira, representing Veiling Holambra’s logistics efforts, will share how his firm is using RFID to identify and track returnable assets, enabling it to achieve high levels of technological innovation.

Abdon Augusto Machado Ligeri, Duratex’s Deca coordinator, will share how RFID technology monitors the movements of products between Deca manufacturing units and processes, as well as how the technology has been integrated into Deca’s inventory-management procedure, using a SAP warehouse-management system. Sérgio Galvão, a consultant at TEVEC Metodologias e Sistemas Ltda., will discuss how TEVEC is using RFID technology, coupled with thermodynamic models and data-analytics tools, to enhance traceability and reliability in the supply chain.

The event will also feature RFID Journal University, RFID Journal‘s most popular preconference offering. This seminar, open to professionals across all industries, is designed to provide those new to RFID with the foundational knowledge necessary to begin understanding how the technology can be applied to solve specific business problems, to choose the right option for a specific application and to select the proper vendors to achieve a successful outcome.
