Adidas, Stadium AB Among Leading Retailers to Present Case Studies at RFID Journal LIVE! Europe 2018

The event, to be held in London on Nov. 7, will highlight leading companies' radio frequency identification deployments in the region, as well as demonstrate the latest technology solutions.

This year’s RFID Journal LIVE! Europe conference and exhibition, to be held on Nov. 7 (with a day of testing on Nov. 6), at County Hall in the heart of London, England, will focus on educating end users about how radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is delivering real business benefits to companies in manufacturing, retail and other sectors. The event will feature three general sessions, a Main Track and a Retail Track. Among the sessions to be featured in the Retail Track will be the following:

• Tsvetan Dimitrov, Adidas‘ director of business solutions for RFID, will reveal how the company is using RFID technology to track its products from manufacturing facilities to store shelves, thereby improving stock accuracy and the on-floor availability of merchandise at its stores. Learn how the firm has deployed the technology in different markets, and how RFID helped to pave the way for its omnichannel strategy. Be sure to bring your smartphone to this highly interactive and educational session.

• Dr. Bill Hardgrave, the founder of Auburn University‘s RFID Lab and the world’s leading expert on RFID in retail, will present a session explaining why retailers must adopt RFID to deliver a true omnichannel experience to customers. Based on his years of observing RFID deployments, Hardgrave will delve into best practices for using the technology effectively in stores and throughout supply chain operations.

• Johan Stenström, who runs supply chain operations for Swedish sportswear and sporting merchandise retailer Stadium AB, will share how his company uses RFID technology to manage fast rotations of products ranging from kayaks to apparel to shoe laces. The use of RFID improved inventory accuracy to about 98 percent, giving in-store personnel confidence in what inventory they have onsite, while also enabling omnichannel selling.

• Dakota Miller, Quincy Bioscience‘s director of loss-control investigations, will discuss how his firm is using RFID to protect its business model, the integrity of its Prevagen memory supplement and consumer safety. Miller will explain how the company is successfully using RFID to combat theft, as well as to identify and eliminate gray-market sales.

• Antonio Rizzi, Ph.D, the founder of the University of Parma‘s RFID Lab, will detail how several retailers with which the lab has worked since 2015 are currently leveraging RFID, either to increase inventory accuracy at the store level or to track replenishments from the back room.

Avery Dennison and SML, two leading providers of RFID systems for the retail sector, will offer technology presentations explaining how their solutions deliver real value.

The event will feature a roundtable breakfast for retailers, hosted by Bill Hardgrave, along with an exhibit area in which leading technology companies will showcase their latest solutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from those who have already deployed RFID, and to network with leading end users.
