Animal Tag Modulation Measurement -- Electronics

By E. Zappulla 2017-03-06 10:18:47 AM

I'm new to RFID and trying to read animal tags. Specifically I have a tank circuit tuned to the proper carrier at 134.2KHZ which produces around a 40V PP sine wave at the antenna. I'm trying to see the modulation when I put a FDX-B tag on the coil but I don't see it on the scope. I also have a commercial reader that reads the tags properly and inspection of their carrier doesn't show any modulation either. So I'm looking for guidance to determine how I should setup my test environment to see the modulated signal using a digital o-scope. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance...ed
