RFID in hospitals

Hi,

I am into research domain and doing my PhD at IIT, Hyderabad, India.

As a research activity, I have taken to build RFID system for pyschriatic ward.

Below are some of the requirements:

1. Patient Tracking

Track the location of patients when he is moving out of the room, going towards restricted area, when patients falls down, when he becomes immobile for a longer time.

2. Alarm triggering

Nurse triggers an alarm when patient becomes aggresive.

3. Amount of Drug dosage, blood group, Temperature of the patient etc.

All these features are embedded in the tag. There are no tags with all these fatures. We are interested to design the same with some other add-on features.

And our plan is to use passive tags.

What is the procedure to embed all the features in the tag?

What are the considerations to be taken care while designing tag, reader and its antennas?

I have concerns regarding the design of tag, antenna, reader, freq of operation etc etc.

I have ordered some free samples of TI and I have seen them in real.

Request you to shed some light on this.

Thanks,

Shabana
