i've just caught wind of this whole RFID thing recently and it astonishes me. i'm a student in college right and have chosen RFIDs as the topic for one of our major reports (a feasability study, RFIDs vs. UPCs). on the one hand theres all the tekkie treats - efficiency, convenience, potential to recover lost/stolen property, etc. etc. and on the other hand the potential for privacy invasion to a HUGE degree. as long as it's implemented properly with the proper controls, it'd work great, but we all know of the corruption in the world and i'm sure it wouldn't be long before they are used to monitor and control the population. at any rate, this is an excellent site and if anyone has some good information on RFIDs I could use for my feasability report, please email me at email@example.com. i've been gathering cost data for production & implementation of RFIDs, conversion from using the UPC system to an RFID system, and cost data on shrinkage, etc. for major retailers.
