Is It Possible to Have an LED on an RFID Tag Glow When a Reader Interrogates It?

If so, who makes such tags?

Urooj,

Farsens offers a battery-free ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID tag with an LED for picking purposes. The LED does not stay on, but rather lights up when an interrogator reads the tag. You can view a video about the tag here. This is the only tag of which I am aware that contains an LED. IDRO also makes a unique tag and reader system that uses tags with a photoelectric sensor. The tag only responds if it receives special optical signals. The system is based on the ISO 18000-63 standard and is designed to eliminate stray reads.
