July 26, 2004—Wipro Technology, one of India's largest IT services firms, has introduced a comprehensive RFID installation at the company's corporate campus store in Bangalore. While showcasing the power of RFID, the project also served to build the company's expertise by providing the experience of implementing RFID in a live retail environment. The system tracks the store's inventory, providing better stocking capabilities and theft prevention. Wipro will continue to develop and enhance the store's RFID-based features over time.
