Investors get mixed signals about RFID

July 7, 2004—As the RFID space continues to heat up, investors are trying to figure out in which companies to place their bets. Given the infancy of the market and the technology itself, however, picking the right companies remains very difficult. According to one fund manager, "It's too early to tell who has the inside track." Says another analyst, "Typical of any technology in its infancy, most of the people who are leaders are small companies that will die or get absorbed."
