June 21, 2004—A new report from ABI Research names animal tracking as a particularly compelling RFID opportunity. It notes, for example, that only 2% of the tens of millions of cows in the US are currently tagged, and that since the US government initiated the National Animal Identification System, a significant increase in this percentage will be required.
