'Slap and ship' OK for RFID says analyst

May 26, 2004—A senior analyst at Forrester Research this week advised moving ahead with the so-called "slap and ship" RFID approach, arguing that a comprehensive restructuring of the supply chain around RFID would be prohibitively expensive for most companies and infeasible in the short term. The advice directly counters recent warnings by both Tesco and Wal-Mart that manufacturers avoid simply slapping and shipping.
