Is it possible to employ radio frequency identification for pressure measuring, and for capturing data from a pipeline approximately 2 meters below Earth's surface?
I guess the answer depends on how the system is engineered. Reading a tag within a steel tube located 2 meters (6.6 feet) underground is likely impossible. But it might be feasible to attach a pressure sensor to an active tag's input ports, then mount that tag on the outside of the pipe and have it transmit its signal to the surface.
The tag would need to be encased in plastic, in order to insulate it from cold and moisture. The biggest trick might be how to connect the tag and the sensor inside the pipe without creating leaks.
