Totvs is a Brazilian company that has become a multinational player in the business management software (ERP) market. Totvs hopes to boost its clients’ businesses in the year ahead.

Angela Gheller

In an exclusive interview with IoP Journal, Angela Gheller, the company’s director of manufacturing, logistics and agroindustry, discussed Totvs’ supply chain strategies, as well as its use of smart packaging and its sustainability initiatives involving diverse technologies. These include the Internet of Things (IoT), radio frequency identification (RFID), 2D barcodes and QR codes.

Gheller exemplified Totvs’ strategies with the use case of  Leal Indústria e Comércio, a manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE), which has reduced by 20 percent the time required for the checking of orders from its customers. That result was obtained thanks to the use of an RFID solution developed by PC Sistemas, a company from the Brazilian State of Goias that Totvs acquired within the last decade.

RFID Journal Brasil, IoP Journal’s precursor, covered this use case in 2017 (see  Factory Reduces Order-Fulfillment Time by 20 Percent). You can watch the full interview with Angela Gheller  here; note that the interview was recorded in Portuguese.
