October 11, 2004—At the 2004 APICS International Conference and Exposition today in San Diego, PeopleSoft announced the “RFID Processor” module as part of its EnterpriseOne 8.11 line of products. The most significant enhancement to the company’s existing RFID package is the addition of inbound good- tracking functionality. The earlier product had been focused on helping companies meet retailer mandates, and thus only offered the ability to track outbound goods. According to the press release, PeopleSoft’s solution now provides visibility at the in-transit, manufacturing, and warehouse stages, “enabling manufacturers to respond to demand volatility in ways they’ve never been able to before.”
