EPCglobal North America, a nonprofit, vendor-neutral, user-driven organization supporting the adoption of Electronic Product Code (EPC) technology, announced today that Mojix, a startup company with a revolutionary approach to radio frequency identification, will demonstrate the ability of its STAR system to read and locate tags in real time at EPC Connection 2008, EPCglobal North America’s fifth annual event, being held Oct. 14-16 at the Chicago’s Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
Mojix plans to show how the real-time location capabilities of system, which conforms to EPCglobal’s Gen 2 air-interface protocol standard, can be used to locate and track its passive UHF RFID tags in a variety of use cases and applications. Also during the event, Mojix will announce its partnership with a major enterprise-solutions software company to provide a new passive real-time location system (RTLS) solution for companies to track work-in-process—as well as products and assets—to improve the way they manage their operations.
“This is breakthrough technology with capabilities that were previously considered impossible to provide with passive UHF systems,” says Ramin Sadr, founder and CEO of Mojix. “We have demonstrated the longer read range of our system and its ability to read and locate tags in 3-D before, and now we are pleased to demonstrate how these capabilities deliver value in real-world applications.”
A premium sponsor of EPC Connection, Mojix plans will be conducting the demonstration live on stage during the opening general session, and announcing several enhancements to its system at the event.
“We are very pleased that attendees will have the opportunity to see the Mojix system live at EPC Connection,” says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal, which is producing the event for EPCglobal. “Many attendees will be focused on compliance, but the event is also designed to show companies how they can benefit from the continuing innovation with EPC technologies.
