Tiny tag offers long read range, flexible mounting on a range of materials

MASON CITY, Iowa (March 1, 2017) — Metalcraft today announced availability of the
Universal Micro RFID Asset Tag for identification projects that require a tiny tag with great read
range regardless of the mounting surface.

The Universal Micro footprint (1.875 x 0.625 inches) and low profile (just 57 mils) means it
easily fits where other tags are too big and obtrusive.

Supplying approximately 9 feet of read range on metal and up to 5 feet on plastic, wood and
glass, the Universal Micro provides incredible read ranges compared to other tags in its class. Its
non-rigid, durable, foam core and polyester construction sets the Micro apart from molded RFID
tags allowing for greater flexibility in tag placement.

The Universal Micro is the latest product in Metalcraft’s Universal RFID tag line using a
patented inlay design and passive RFID technology to obtain excellent read ranges on any
mounting surface.
