I’ve heard that it requires people to be chipped. Is this true? If so, why?

There have been false rumors, ever since the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (commonly called “Obamacare”) was passed, that it requires people to have a radio frequency identification transponder planted under their skin. The truth, however, is that there is no mention whatsoever of RFID anywhere in the act, and it certainly does not require anyone to be “chipped.” As far as I can tell, this is just more misinformation being spread about the federal statute.
