AccuformNMC has reported accelerating its UHF RFID label production and reducing consumable costs by more than half with the Graph-Tech USA (GTUS) RFID-Runner encode-and-print system.
Features of the RFID-Runner include the proprietary GTUS eZ-Inkjet print engine and transport system, enabling printing from the first to the last label on a roll with zero waste—a capability unique in the RFID industry. Its three-reader Impinj architecture ensures every label is correctly encoded, and an integrated camera verifies barcode readability in real time, achieving 100% quality control at full production speed.
The eZ-Inkjet is a drop-on-demand (DOD) system with native 600 dpi resolution, purpose-built for high-quality variable data printing on labels, boxes, mail, cards, tags, and other substrates.
How RFID-Runner Benefited AccuformNMC
AccuformNMC is a division of Justrite Safety Group and a leading converter and printer of OEM labels and safety signs. Jaime Guzman, production manager of AccuformNMC, said the RFID-Runner has “exceeded our expectations”
“Since its installation in late 2025, we are encoding and printing RFID labels with consistent, high-quality text and barcodes at 600 dpi, at speeds up to 20 times faster than thermal printers,” said Guzman. “On top of that, our consumable costs are less than half, which significantly improves our overall economics.”
What RFID Labels Allow
RFID labels, which allow automatic product identification and tracking without line-of-sight barcode scanning, have become a key offering for AccuformNMC. This is driven by retailer initiatives to improve inventory management and reduce errors, most notably the Walmart RFID mandate.
As demand for RFID labels rapidly outpaced the company’s thermal printer capacity, that led AccuformNMC to implement the GTUS RFID-Runner, transforming its cost and capacity model. Markus Portmann, President of Graph-Tech USA, noted the RFID-Runner is designed for industrial-scale RFID production that delivers verified, zero-waste printing at dramatically lower cost per label.
“AccuformNMC operates at top production speeds, demands exceptional print quality, and requires real-time barcode verification—making them a natural fit for our technology,” said Portmann. “Customers also value our U.S.-based manufacturing and same-time-zone support, with coverage across Mexico, Europe, and South America.”
