Have You Seen RFID Used to Track Rental Equipment Within Customers’ Homes?

No, I have not. Radio frequency identification is a relatively short-range tracking and identification technology. To track items within a person's home, you would need to install a reader at that location and then connect it to the Internet. That doesn't seem feasible. I have seen rental companies track equipment into and out of their facilities, so that a company knows which items were removed, and by whom. They can also set up alerts when an item is not returned within a certain period of time. By requiring a person to remove the tagged item from the facility in order to enter the location to which the object is being moved, you could track who has what.
