This past week,  Intelligent Label Solutions (ITL Group) posted a webinar that it put together in partnership with  Tageos. The video,  available on YouTube, explores the importance of radio frequency identification technologies in helping businesses in the retail sector achieve their sustainability goals and targets.

Headquartered in the United Kingdom, ITL provides promotional labels and product-identification solutions for companies to enhance their brand image and share essential information about their products. The company offers an integrated range of products and solutions for retailers, brand owners and garment manufacturers.

French company Tageos, meanwhile, designs and manufactures RFID inlays and tags, including ultrahigh-frequency (UHF), high-frequency (HF) and Near Field Communication (NFC). Its offerings are intended to help businesses identify, authenticate, track and trace their products in a range of applications and markets.

The 13-minute webinar featured three speakers: Jimmy Christopher, ITL’s group sustainability officer; Stewart Plimsoll, the company’s group RFID project manager; and Karin Fabri, the VP of marketing at Tageos. The key areas covered included how radio frequency identification can enable waste reduction, how the technology decreases greenhouse gas emissions, how RFID fosters transparency and how such solutions become more sustainable through sustainable inlays.

Sustainability and circularity (an economic system built around eliminating waste and reducing the use of resources) are becoming increasingly important for retailers and brands. Therefore, I recommend checking out the webinar, which will no doubt prove useful to your company and your supply chain.
