Next year CA will start use RFID in pharma?

FDA supports a track and trace technology approach to combat the potential for counterfeit prescription drugs through the application of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags or other taggants such as two dimensional barcodes (“2D barcodes”) to drug product packages. RFID and 2D barcode tags would include unique individual serial numbers on each pharmaceutical drug product, allowing them to be tracked and traced through the prescription drug distribution chain.

If use RFID for pharmaceutical. How to solve the consumer privacy concern? Use "kill" function to deactivate RFID tag or use consumer-controllable RFID tag (e.g., on/off).

Which one is better for consumer and tracked and traced the product? If the consumer-controllable RFID label price is 0.02 higher than regular RFID label, is it acceptable?
