September 3, 2004—According to the municipal government's IT unit, Hong Kong must catch up with the rest of the world in its RFID development, which currently lags behind many other countries. The city enjoys a geostrategic advantage given its proximity to some of the most productive regions of China, and that advantage should be capitalized on by establishing the city as an RFID leader.
