RFID Journal, the world's first and most authoritative media company focused on radio frequency identification and its many business applications, has announced dates for two major executive conferences. RFID Journal LIVE! Europe will be held at the Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Oct. 10-12, and RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, May 1-3, 2006.

The event in Europe, like RFID Journal's executive conferences in the United States, is aimed at senior executives in information technology, logistics, packaging and other functional areas that will be affected by the adoption of RFID in the global supply chain, and eventually in retail and manufacturing. Among the speakers that have already confirmed their participation are:

* John Clarke, the CTO at Tesco Stores Ltd.

* Dirk Heyman, director, auto-ID Europe, at Gillette Group International

* Jens Heitman, senior manager, system/equipment standardization process and methods, at Airbus

* Mike O'Shea, director, corporate auto-ID/RFID strategies and technologies, at Kimberly-Clark

* James Stafford, the RFID project head at Marks & Spencer

* David Weatherby, the European adoption program manager at EPCglobal

* Gerd Wolfram, director IT strategy, IT buying and development services, at Metro

The full agenda for the event is available on the RFID Journal LIVE! Europe Web site.

"Our goal is to provide the highest-quality content focused on the needs and concerns of end users," says Mark Roberti, founder of the company and editor of RFID Journal magazine. "We are inviting those speakers who can provide real insights for our European audience and are working with them on sessions that address the key issues facing companies in Europe."

RFID Journal recently held its its third-annual executive conference, which was attended by nearly 1,600 people, including most of the heads of the RFID programs at the major companies adopting RFID technologies. The event featured an elaborate stage that looked like a warehouse to emphasise the theme "Real Users, Real Issues, Real Solutions." There was also an 18-piece band that entertained the audience after dinner.

RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 will feature an unparalleled lineup of end users talking about the lessons they have learned and objective experts speaking about the issues RFID Journal readers say they want to learn more about.

"RFID Journal LIVE! is the one RFID event where attendees can learn from the thought leaders, network with their peers and see the latest products and services from the leading vendors in the RFID industry," says Roberti. "In addition, our executive conferences have a well-deserved reputation for being innovative and fun. We're already working on new ways to wow the audience next year."
