Children’s apparel retailer Carter’s deployed a UHF RFID-based system at each of 750 stores in August 2021. The objective of the rollout is to improve overall inventory accuracy, spur omnichannel sales growth, and improve operational efficiencies. By knowing the status of available goods at each location, the company is better poised to provide “buy online” pickup in store” (BOPIS) functionality, as well as “ship from store” services. In this session, RFID Journal Founder and Editor Mark Roberti and Andrew Tashiro, Sr. Director, Omnichannel & Inventory, Carter’s will discuss how the system is ensuring on-shelf availability of its products for children and babies, while enabling omnichannel sales. This project is nominated for RFID Journal Award in the category of Best Retail RFID Implementation.
