I am a student at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, in India, and am working on a project involving an RFID collision-prevention algorithm, based on an IEEE transaction paper. What sort of RFID reader would be suitable for our project?

Dear Balaji,

If you purchase an RFID interrogator based on one of the international standards—ISO 18000-6, ISO 18000-3 or ISO 15693—these already utilize an anti-collision protocol. You would need to find a reader that would allow you to design your own proprietary air-interface protocol. I suggest you visit Sparkfun Electronics, which sells many electronic components that can be used to build prototypes.
