I am at a bit of a loss as to how to answer your question.

Radio frequency identification could replace keys. Hotels are switching to RFID-enabled locks (see NFC-enabled Phones to Unlock Hotel Rooms and Hotel Employs RFID to Woo Guests). The same technology could be used in homes, but I’m unsure how that would help babysitters.

RFID is typically employed to track and manage things that are not stationary, and not connected to the Internet. If you are tracking a large number of children within a facility containing many rooms, a real-time location system (RTLS) could be utilized to ensure that the kids do not wander off. This application would be similar to how hospital use RFID to track patients (see RFID Gives Dementia Patients Their Freedom).

But if you are talking about tracking one or two children within a typical home or apartment, I’m not sure that RFID could help. If I have misunderstood your question, please feel free to re-submit it in greater detail.
