According to the survey of 256 companies sampled across the manufacturing, transportation, logistics and distribution centers, and medical care industries, only 8% have actually integrated RFID. Perhaps more significantly, more than half of those interviewed did not even know what RFID is. The study predictably recommends a concerted government effort to encourage RFID development in Taiwan. Assuming that advice is taken, the country will be added to a growing list of Asian countries vying to be the region’s RFID leader; South Korea, Singapore, India, and China all have RFID initiatives underway.
