RFID Journal today announced that for its 11th annual RFID Journal Awards, it has added new categories to highlight the best RFID deployments.
The RFID Journal Awards, widely regarded as the industry’s most prestigious commendation, recognize businesses that have distinguished themselves by their successful use of radio frequency identification technologies. These awards acknowledge the achievements of companies that have utilized RFID to launch a new product or service, improve their operations, protect the environment, provide exceptional value to customers or uncover new ways to solve business problems. Winners will be showcased at the 15th annual RFID Journal LIVE! conference and exhibition, to be held on May 9-11, 2017, at the Phoenix Convention Center, located in Arizona.
The new award categories being introduced consist of the following:
• Best Retail RFID Implementation
• Best Manufacturing RFID Implementation
• Best Logistics/Supply Chain RFID Implementation
• Best Health-Care RFID Implementation
• Best RFID Implementation (Other Industry)
The winner for each of these five categories will be the organization that has demonstrated the best use of RFID technology to lower costs, improve efficiencies or otherwise enhance the way it does business.
The three other RFID Journal Awards categories for 2017 are being retained from previous years:
Best Use of RFID to Enhance a Product or Service
This will be awarded to the end-user company that has demonstrated the best use of RFID technology.
Best New Product
This will be awarded to the RFID technology hardware, software or service provider demonstrating the best new product or service at the event.
RFID Special Achievement Award
This will be awarded to an end user, researcher, vendor, inventor or standards developer, or to anyone else who has contributed to the advancement of the entire RFID industry.
“These categories better reflect the state of adoption in RFID,” says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal’s founder and editor, “and allow us to honor the best RFID projects in the key industries for which the technology is delivering real value.”
RFID Journal’s editors, along with an independent panel of judges, will evaluate all entries and choose the winners. An awards ceremony will be held at LIVE!, and the winners will receive a crystal award and be featured in RFID Journal’s digital magazine. RFID Journal is accepting submissions now through Feb. 17.
