Motorola Solutions, a leading provider of passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID technology, will serve as the cornerstone and registration sponsor of RFID Journal LIVE! 2012, the media company’s largest annual event. LIVE! 2012—RFID Journal‘s tenth annual conference and exhibition—is the world’s premier event focused on radio frequency identification and its many business applications. The event will be held on Apr. 3-5, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resort, located in Orlando, Fla.
“Motorola Solutions has established itself as a dominant player in the market for UHF handheld and fixed RFID readers,” says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal‘s founder and editor. “We are extremely pleased that Motorola has agreed to be the cornerstone sponsor for RFID Journal LIVE! for the fourth consecutive year. We look forward to working with the company’s senior executives to build on the success of previous events, and to continue growing the RFID market.”
Paul Steinberg, Motorola Solutions’ chief technology officer, will deliver a keynote address at the conference. Steinberg will discuss global market trends and their impact on the RFID solution set, as well as the major business applications for which the technology is being used, the benefits that companies are realizing and the expected evolution of technologies vital to meeting the needs of the global enterprise.
At LIVE! 2012, RFID Journal will celebrate the 10th year of the industry’s flagship convention. The event will feature four industry-specific and four how-to conference tracks, as well as nine in-depth preconference seminars and workshops, fast-track training, the RFID Journal Awards, and two co-located events—IEEE RFID 2012 and AIDC 100: RFID and Bar-Code Co-existence.
The 2012 IEEE International Conference on RFID, sponsored by the IEEE Technical Committee on RFID (CRFID), is the leading conference for exchanging all technical RFID-related research. The conference attracts attendees from a mix of practitioners and researchers within industry and academia, from around the world and spanning numerous disciplines. IEEE RFID 2012 presents an opportunity to share timely research results in all areas of RFID technologies and their applications.
“IEEE RFID is the premier forum for industry experts and researchers to discuss the latest technical advances and innovations in the field of RFID,” says Daniel Deavours, the general co-chair of IEEE RFID 2012. “The co-location with RFID Journal LIVE! provides a unique opportunity for the attendees of IEEE RFID 2012 to gain insights into the latest business developments within the RFID industry.”
The AIDC 100 event, subtitled “Lessons Learned From AIDC Technology Adoption,” is being presented by AIDC 100, an organization of professionals who have significantly contributed to the growth and advancement of the automatic identification and data-capture (AIDC) industry. This workshop is designed to provide attendees with insights into how to avoid problems and save implementation costs by understanding the parallels of RFID, by way of lessons learned through the adoption of bar codes, as well as where bar codes and RFID can best co-exist. Attendees will be able to learn how to take a strategic approach to RFID technology adoption and integration with bar codes.
In addition, the conference will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry’s leading technology firms.
The conference program will reveal how all types of RFID technologies—active, Wi-Fi, passive UHF, passive high-frequency (HF) and more—can be employed to improve operations in every sector. Like all RFID Journal events, LIVE! 2012 will feature leading end users objectively explaining how they utilize the technology to enhance efficiencies and streamline business processes. What’s more, the conference will include technology exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the leading RFID companies worldwide.
“RFID has evolved a great deal over the past decade, and there are so many great end-user case studies from which attendees can learn,” Roberti states. “This year’s event will be our biggest and best ever, and attendees will have a chance to hear the many ways in which RFID can improve the way they do business.”
