Is Wi-Fi Always Necessary for RFID?

No. Many RFID interrogators include either an ethernet port or Wi-Fi, enabling them to be connected to a company’s network so that data can be passed to back-end systems. Wi-Fi can reduce the cost of cabling in a warehouse, but for many applications, companies connect their readers to the Internet using a standard CAT-5 Internet cable.
