June 28, 2004—The RFID Experts Group, originally started at the US Department of Defense to examine, address, and advise the department on issues related to RFID, has transitioned to the RFID industry trade association AIM Global. The group will continue in a similar capacity at AIM and will soon open participation up to AIM's international members.
