Using RFID to Take Inventory in an Apparel Store

On Sept. 30, 2010, RFID Journal visited a store in Fidenza, Italy, where the University of Parma’s RFID Lab has been conducting a trial to determine RFID’s impact on inventory accuracy, replenishment in an apparel store. Researcher Rossano Vitulli demonstrated how an employee can take inventory with a fixed reader adapted to work as a mobile reader. This edited video shows that he was able to inventory more than 2,000 items in under 15 minutes.
